Originally created as part of a nationwide advertising campaign for Renault Winery in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey, the champagne bottles that remain in the state have drawn attention for over 80 years. While they do not all continue to serve their planned purpose, they do continue to serve as curiosities scattered around main South Jersey roads.
South Jersey's Giant Champagne Bottles
Four bottles stand in New Jersey, including one near the Renault Winery on Route 30 in Egg Harbor City, recently re-plastered and painted with the winery's current colors and logo; one down the road in Hammonton; and a third and fourth no longer advertising the winery, both on Route 9, in Bayville and New Gretna.
